Life without Zazen

From my Zen Calendar for May 1st. A quote from Shunryu Suzuki:

"Life without zazen is like winding your clock without setting it. It runs perfectly well, but doesn't tell time."

I like this one. For myself it is so true. Zazen keeps me in the right time. Without it I am lost. With zazen I may still wander around, but I am not lost.

Hands palm to palm,

How would you know?

Imagine for a moment if clocks and watches did not exist.

How would you know when to get up in the morning?

Or go to bed?

How would you know when to go to work?

How would you know when it's time to go home?

How would you know when to get together with friends for a drink and a movie?

How would you know?

Hands palm to palm,
