My Karate Kids

Contrary to popular belief, the Mohicans are still alive. Here's a photo of some of my Karate Kids at the Mohican Family Center...along with Sensei Verna Micik. The kids were thrilled to get there gi's.

We are working on warriorship values, kata and basic techniques. Come spring a few of these great kids will be wearing yellow belts.

    Nice group you got there! They look happy, which is a very good thing.

    Last night, one of our new students got her gi. It had been back ordered and took a few weeks to arrive. When she got it, it was like watching a kid open her very first Christmas gift ever. Wide-eyed and opened mouthed, she looked at it/held it like it was the most precious thing in the world - and it was amazing to watch. The faces on your kids above remind me of that, which is pretty darn cool :-)

    Thanks Felicia...I felt like Santa Claus...the energy was fantastic...and you are right...it is pretty darn cool! It is important for this old-timer to remember these moments...it keeps me going.
